Clive’s Gardening Services (CGS), Lancashire’s eco-friendly gardeners offer all lawn care services from mowing to laying a new lawn.

CGS was invited to attend a client’s property to provide a free no-obligation quote, the client advised the lawn was 50 years old and had really suffered after a very hot summer in 2018 and very wet winter, it also had a lot of dead patches.

 The client requested a quote to remove the lawn, make the soil fit to accept new turf and lay new turf. The client also requested disposal of all green waste.

The quote and payment terms were accepted, and the job was booked in the diary.

As the lawn was removed it was marked out so the original shape could be retained.

 The topsoil was dug over to a depth of about 4 inches deep, the soil was then dressed with a soil enricher and then a grass fertilizer was mixed into the soil enricher.

The soil enricher was then compressed with wooden planks ready to accept the new turf.

With the garden ready to accept the new turf CGS collected the turf from their local supplier.

 The new turf was then laid standing and kneeling on boards to avoid compressing the new turf.

 With all the new turf in situ, the edges of the lawn were cut to shape the lawn.

 With the edges cut the lawn was ready to be watered in.

 With the new lawn being water CGS discussed the new lawn aftercare procedure with the client.
